Mattie Harriet "Mattie Hattie" was born on August 11th, 1870 in Braintree, Orange County, Vermont.1 Mattie Harriet "Mattie Hattie"'s father was Henry Joseph Hyzer and her mother was Paulina Jane Blanchard. Her paternal grandparents were Davis D. Hyzer and Martha Ann Pratt; her maternal grandparents were Bernard (Barnard) Blanchard and Harriet S. Fuller. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Henry Clinton, Homer Edward, Otto Lewis, Paul Raymond, Eleanor Paulina, Agnes Lucinda "Lula" Or "Lulu", Lottie Francis and Clytie Henrietta. She was the second oldest of the nine children.1 -
