Henry Joseph Hyzer 
Henry Joseph was born on April 21st, 1845 in Rome, New York.1 Henry Joseph's father was Davis D. Hyzer and his mother was Martha Ann Pratt. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Abraham Hyzer and Sarah (Sally) Bragg; his maternal grandparents were Simon Pratt and Mary Taylor. He had two brothers named Edward Norton and George Davis. He was the oldest of the three children. He died due to Sugar Diabetes at the age of 62 on December 27th, 1907 in Chelsea, Massachusetts.1 General Notes

He was a soldier in the Civil War from Massachusetts, CO. K. 59th Mass. Volls. He suffered from sun stroke in camp and was unable to do any fighting. He collected several antique breaus and desks from which he used the wood to make tow or three violins. One of them, his granddaughter, E. Alida Wood, in West Brookfield, VT has. He went to Cuba and bought some land, Mrs. Wood also has the deed to this. He also went to California with his son, Henry, prospecting for gold. He died of sugar diabetes in an old Soldier's home.
