Martha Alvord 
Martha was born on October 14th, 1858 in East Hampton, CT.1 Martha's father was Jesse Herd Alvord and her mother was Sylvia Ann Edgecomb. Her paternal grandparents were Ashbel Alvord and Mary Jacobs; her maternal grandfather was Charles Edgecomb. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Silas Benton, Calvin Gridley, William Watson, Henry, Sarah Ann, Mariette, Jane Maria, Emily Matilda and Harriet Ella. She was the second youngest of the ten children.1 -
