Matilda was born in 1031 in Flanders.  Matilda's father was Baudouin V Flanders and her mother was Adele Alix.  Her paternal grandparents were Baldwin\Baudouin IV "le Barbu" de Flanders and Ogive\Otgiva de Luxembourg; her maternal grandparents were Robert II Capet and Constance De Arles.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 52 on November 2nd, 1083 in Caen, Calvados, France.  She was buried in Holy Trinity Abbey, Caen, Normandy, France.


Matilda's first family with William

‌Matilda and William were married in a religious ceremony in 1051 in Castle Of Angi, Normandy, Fr.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Henry, Richard Fitz Pons Bychan, Matilda and Adele.
