His paternal grandparents were Jacob Colby and Mehitable Corliss. He had a brother and four sisters, named Edwin R., Orisa, Ruth Jane, Nellie R. and Dora R.. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 87 on May 3rd, 1953 in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont.-
