Seymour (Semore) was born about 1777 in Randolph County, North Carolina.  Seymour (Semore)'s father was Jeremiah York and his mother was Sarah Allred.  His paternal grandparents were Semore York and Sylvania L Aldredge; his maternal grandparents were John Allred and Margaret Cheney. He had seven brothers and seven sisters, named John Crabtree, Jabez, Thomas, Darius, Jeremiah Jr., Barnabus, William, Sarah, Ann, Aquilla, Hulda, Dorcas, Jane and Catherine. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Andrew J., Alford D. and Tamer.  He died in Rabun County, GA.

‌Seymour (Semore) and Meriam were married in a religious ceremony on January 22nd, 1802 in North Carolina.1   They had three sons named Jeremiah, John B. and Jeffery.
