Aquilla was born about 1805. Aquilla's father was Jeremiah York and her mother was Sarah Allred. Her paternal grandparents were Semore York and Sylvania L Aldredge; her maternal grandparents were John Allred and Margaret Cheney. She had eight brothers and six sisters, named Seymour (Semore), John Crabtree, Jabez, Thomas, Darius, Jeremiah Jr., Barnabus, William, Sarah, Ann, Hulda, Dorcas, Jane and Catherine. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Andrew J., Alford D. and Tamer.-
