Maria was born in Grave, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands.  Maria's father was Arnold Van Egmond von Geldern and her mother was Katharine of Kleve.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan II "met de Bellen" van Egmond and Maria Van Arkel; her maternal grandparents were Adolf I Herzog Von Kleve and Marie of Burgundy. She had a brother named Adolph.  She died on November 16th, 1463 in Edinburgh, Mid-Lothian, Scotland.  She was buried on December 1st, 1463 in Roxburgh Castle, Scotland.


Maria's family with James II "Hearty James" Stewart

‌Maria and James II "Hearty James" were married in a religious ceremony on July 3rd, 1449 in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Scotland.  They had four sons and two daughters, named James III Stewart of, Alexander, Son, Son, Mary Margaret and Margaret Cecilia.
