James II "Hearty James" was born in 1437 in Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh, Scotland.  James II "Hearty James"'s father was James I Stewart of Scotland and his mother was Joan Beaufort.  His paternal grandparents were Robert III Stewart and Annabella Drummond of Stobhall; his maternal grandparents were John "Fairborn" Beaufort and Margaret De Holand. He had a brother and six sisters, named Alexander (Twin Brother of James II), Annabella, Joan, Daughter, Daughter, Daughter and Daughter. He had two half-brothers named John Stewart of and James.  He died at the age of 23 on August 3rd, 1460 in Killed by an exploding cannon at the siege of Roxburgh Castle.  He was buried in Holyrood Abbey.

‌James II "Hearty James" and Maria were married in a religious ceremony on July 3rd, 1449 in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Scotland.  They had four sons and two daughters, named James III Stewart of, Alexander, Son, Son, Mary Margaret and Margaret Cecilia.
