Georgios Laskaris 
Georgios was born about 1171 in Nicaea, Bursa, Turkey. Georgios' father was Manolis Laskaris and his mother was Ioanna Karatzaina (Phokaina). He had six brothers named Manolis, Konstantinos IX, Theodore I Lascaris of, Alexios, Isaak and Michael. He was the second oldest of the seven children.
