Martha was born in 1835 in Jackson Co.,AL. Martha's father was Alexander Riddle and her mother was Mary Bynum. Her paternal grandfather was Harmon Riddle and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Easley; her maternal grandfather is Isaac or Solmon Bynum. She had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Benjamin Preston, Thomas, Alexander, Sarah and Mary E.. She is the fourth oldest of the seven children.-
