Maud Matilda was born about 1192 in Pembroke,Pembrokeshire,Wales.  Maud Matilda's father was William Marshall and her mother was Isabel de Clare.  Her paternal grandparents were John Marshall and Sibyl Salisbury Devereaux; her maternal grandparents were Earl of Pembroke Richard (Strong Bow) de Clare and Eve Mac Murrough. She had two sisters named Eva and Isabel.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died on March 27th, 1248.

‌Maud Matilda and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony about 1212 in Pembroke,Pembrokeshire,Wales.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Roger, Hugh, Ralph, William and Isabel.

‌Maud Matilda and William were married in a religious ceremony before October 13th, 1225.  They had a son named John.
