Jaccob Arthur (Jake) Godwin 
Jaccob Arthur, known as Jake, was born in 1875 in Ripley,Tippah Co.,MS.1 Jake's father is Elijah A. *Godwin and his mother was Minerva J. Unknown. His paternal grandparents are Allen Goodwin and Martha Unknown. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James Akiel, John L., Elizabeth H., Mattie, Mary Ella, Leota and Letitia. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 55 in 1930 in Whitesboro,TX.1 
Jake and Mary Darcus were married in a religious ceremony on May 10th, 1905.1 They had three sons named Bill, James Grayson and John Franklin.
