Ealdgyth(Aglithia), known as Swan Neck, was born about 1020 in Mercia - an Anglo-Saxon kingdom.  Swan Neck's father was Earl of East Anglia and Mercia Alfgar Mercia III and her mother was Princess of England Alfgifu.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl of Mercia, Lord of Coventry Leofric III and Godiva; her maternal grandparents were King of England Aethelred (The Unready) II and Queen Aelfgifu Thoradsdatter. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Edwin, Morcar(Morkere), Leverunia, Lucy and Agitha.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died after 1086.


Swan Neck's first family with Earl of Dunbar Maldred

‌Swan Neck and Maldred were married in a religious ceremony in 1036.  They had a son named Gospatric.


Swan Neck's second family with Harald Godwinsson II

‌Swan Neck and Harald Godwinsson were married in a religious ceremony in 1045 in Wessex.  They had four sons and two daughters, named Godwin Haroldsson, Eadmund Haraldsson, Magnus Haraldsson, Olaf Haraldsson, Gunhild Haraldsdatter and Gytha Haraldsdottir.


Swan Neck's third family with Gruffydd ap Llewelyn I

‌Swan Neck and Gruffydd ap Llewelyn were married in a religious ceremony in 1058.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Ithel ap Gruffydd, Maredydd ap Gruffydd and Nesta verch Gruffydd.
