Aethelred, known as The Unready, was born about 0968 in Wessex.  The Unready's father was Edgar and his mother was Elfrida.  His paternal grandparents were Edmund I and Elgiva; his maternal grandparents are Ordgar and Wulfrith. He had a brother named Edmund.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died  due to durring the Canutes invasion of England on April 23rd, 1016 in London,Middlesex,England.  He was buried in May 1016 in the old St. Paul's Cathedral - tomb lost in The Great Fire Of London.

‌The Unready and Aelfgifu Thoradsdatter were married in a religious ceremony about 0985 in Province of Normandie.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Ironside, Edred and Alfgifu.


The Unready's second family with Emma of Normandie *

‌The Unready and Emma of Normandie were married in a religious ceremony on April 5th, 1002 in Winchester Cathedral,London.  They had two sons and a daughter, named The Confessor, Alfred and Godgifu of Wessex.
