Avelina *Courtenay

Avelina was born about 1281.¹ Avelina's father was 3rd Baron of Okehampton, Sir Hugh Courtenay and her mother was Eleanor Despenser. Her paternal grandparents were 2nd Baron of Okehampton, Sir John Courtenay and Isabel de Vere; her maternal grandparents were Sir Knight Hugh Despenser and Countess of Norfolk Aliva Bassett. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Hugh, Thomas, John, Eleanor, Margaret, Isabella and Egeline. She is the fourth oldest of the eight children.
