Amicia was born about 1426 in of Cothorp, Oxfordshire, England. Amicia's father was John Danvers and her mother was Joane Bruly. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Danvers and Agnes de Brancestre; her maternal grandparents are John Bruly and Matilda Quartermain. She had eight brothers and seven sisters, named Robert, Richard, John, Thomas, William, Henry, Simon, Edward, Joane, Agnes, Elizabeth, Alicia, Miss, Margaret and Bova.
