Nigel de Toeni Neel was born about 1030 in Toeni,,Eure,Normandy. Nigel de Toeni Neel's father was Roger I d'Espagne ('The Spaniard') Toeni Lord of Guerny and his mother was Godhilda Goodchild Adelaide of Barcelona. He had three brothers and a sister, named Raoul III d'Acquigny, Roger II de, Robert de and Adelina Adeliza Alice. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William and Agnes. He died in of Drakelow,of Gresley,Derbyshire,England.General Notes
Son of Roger de Toeni. Younger bro. of Robert de Toeni who also assumed
the surname "Stafford". He held Drakelow, Gresley and other manors in
Derbyshire and Staffordshire 1086 (Domesday). Castle Gresley took its
name from his castle and from him descended the Gresley family. His son
William founded an Augustinian prior temp. Henry I, and Roger, the next
