Caleb Shipley 
Caleb was born in 1799 in Sullivan Co, Tennessee.1 Caleb's father was Elijah Shipley , Sr and his mother was Rachel Elizabeth Kingston. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Shipley and Catherine Hawk. He had five brothers named Benjamin Franklin, Joshua, Richard, Elijah and Adam. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 62 on October 20th, 1861 in Kingsport, Sullivan Co, Tennessee. He was buried in Shipley Family Cemetery at Warrior's Path State Park.1 1 General Notes
Death: An e-mail dated Friday, June 20, 2003 9:02 PM from Lona WardGibson LonaGibson@aol.com reads "Our Caleb was murdered by his own nephewwith an AXE for his money. He and two more men killed him. Two of hisson's, John and Willie escaped them. Willie hid under the bed and Johnran outside and hid in some bushes. He was supposed to have been killedIn Hawkin's Co. This is next to Kingsport, Tennessee"
