Einion Ap was born about 0933.  Einion Ap's father is Owain Ap Hywel and his mother is Angharad Verch Llewelyn.  His paternal grandparents are Hywel "Dda" Ap Cadell and Elen Verch Llywarch; his maternal grandparents are Llywelyn Ap Merfyn and Malit Verch Llwarch. He has a brother named Maredydd Ap.  He is the older of the two children.
