Gronwy Ap was born about 0959. Gronwy Ap's father is Einion Ap Owain and his mother is Nest Saxon Devonshire. His paternal grandparents are Owain Ap Hywel and Angharad Verch Llewelyn; his maternal grandfather is Earl of Saxon. He has a brother and a sister, named Cadell Ap and Gwenllian Verch.
