Cadell Ap was born about 0953 in Llandilo Carmarthahire Wales. Cadell Ap's father is Einion Ap Owain and his mother is Nest Saxon Devonshire. His paternal grandparents are Owain Ap Hywel and Angharad Verch Llewelyn; his maternal grandfather is Earl of Saxon. He has a brother and a sister, named Gronwy Ap and Gwenllian Verch.
