Adalbert Count de was born in 0994 in Ghent, Flanders, Belgium.1 Adalbert Count de's father was "The Great" Count of Frisia Arnulf and his mother was Liutgard Countess of Luxembourg. His paternal grandparents were Count of West Friesland Dietrich II and Hildegarde of Flanders; his maternal grandparents were Count of Luxembourg Siegfried and Hedwig of Nordgau. He had a brother and a sister, named Thierry III Count of Frisia and Adele. He was the youngest of the three children. He died about 1032.1 General Notes
