Count of Maasgau was born about 0830 in Maasgau, Meuse Valley, Austrasia now Belgium.1 Count of Maasgau's father was Count of Maasgau Giselbert I and his mother is Sister of Echard Count of Hesbaye , *. His paternal grandfather is Count of Sens Gainfroi and his paternal grandmother was of Blois Theidlindis. He was an only child. He died in 0863.2 General Notes
