Melvin Absolm was born on April 8th, 1841 in Barry Co Mo. Melvin Absolm's father was Jesse Galloway and his mother was Hannah H. Sparks. His paternal grandparents are James Galloway and Anney Housely. He had a brother and a sister, named Francis Marion and Anna. He was the oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named Major Charles, Alexander, Dilla, Lucretia Jane, Sallie, Mariah, Peggie, Elizabeth, Caroline, Mary and infant. He died at the age of 76 on August 2nd, 1917 in Jenkins, Barry Co, Mo. He was buried on March 8th, 1917 in Cassville Cementery, Cassville, Barry Co, Mo.General Notes
