Mariah Galloway 
Mariah was born in 1817 in Roane County, Tennessee. Mariah's father was Jesse Galloway and her mother was Nancy Caldwell. Her paternal grandparents are James Galloway and Anney Housely. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Major Charles, Alexander, Peggie, Elizabeth, Caroline, Mary and infant. She was the oldest of the eight children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Melvin Absolm, Francis Marion, Dilla, Lucretia Jane, Sallie and Anna. She died at the age of 82 on November 7th, 1899 in Barry Co., Mo. She was buried in 1899 in Kane (King) Cemetery, Jenkins, Barry Co., Mo.General Notes

Mariah Galloway Langston Sullivan died on 7 Nov 1899 in Barry County,Missouri. Her obituary appeared in the Cassville Republican, VolXXVIII, No. 16, Thurs., Nov 16, 1899:

Died, at her home near Jenkins, Nov. 7, of pneumonia, Mrs. MariahSullivan, aged 82 years, 4 months and 21 days.
She was the daughter of Jesse Galloway, and was born in Jefferson Co.,Ind., in 1817 and came to Barry County in 1837; was married in 1840 to M.Langston. She was left a widow early in life and married John Sullivan in1875. He died several years ago and she remained a widow the balance ofher life. She leaves four children: Henry and A.J. Langston, Mrs. G.R.King and Mrs. John King. About three years ago a horse fell with herand broke her shoulder, from which she never fully recovered. She wasloved by all who knew her for her kind and charitable disposition, andher death will be mourned by many relatives and friends. She professedreligion early in life and for the past fifteen years has been a memberof the Church of Christ, but she has answered the call, "Come up higher."Her mansion on earth is left desolate but her heavenly mansion istenanted. She was laid to rest in the King cemetery amid a largegathering of relatives and neighbors with singing and prayer by L.T.Boucher.
