William was born about 1068. William's father is Walter FitzOtho De Windsor and his mother is Gwladys Verch Rhiwallon Powys. His paternal grandfather is Dominus Gherardini; his maternal grandfather is Rhiwallon Ap Cynfyn. He has a brother named Gerald FitzWalter. He is the older of the two children. He has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Gruffydd Ap and Nest Verch.General Notes
