Cynfyn Brenin Ap was born about 0978 in Powys Wales. Cynfyn Brenin Ap's father is Gwaithford Ap Gwaithfoed and his mother is Nest Verch Cadell. His paternal grandparents are Gwaethfoed "Fawr" Ap Gwynnan and Morfydd Verch Ynyr; his maternal grandfather is Cadell Ap Brochwel. He has two sisters named Elinor Verch and Miss verch.
