Iowerth ap was born about 1045.  Iowerth ap's father was Bleddyn ap Cynfyn Prince of Deheubarth and his mother is Haer verch Cillin.  His paternal grandparents are Cynfyn Brenin Ap Gwerystan and Angharad Verch Maredudd; his maternal grandfather was Cillin ap Blaidd and his maternal grandmother is <Unnamed>. He had four brothers and a sister, named Maredudd ap, Phiryd ap, Madog ap, Cadwgan ap and Gwenllian verch.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died after 1111.
