Mary Catherine was born on February 23rd, 1832 in Edwards Co., Edwards, IL. Mary Catherine's father was Elijah WILSON and her mother was Martha KELLY. Her paternal grandparents were James WILSON and Ellender or Eleanor SHELFER; her maternal grandfather was Henry KELLY and her maternal grandmother is Jane Catherine HUNT. She had eight brothers and ten sisters, named Ervin Riley, Alfred Gideon, Elmer, Sylvester, Thomas, Elijah Nicholas, Elias, James Henry, Mary Elizabeth, Palace Ann, Eleanor, Sarah, Melvina, Frances Marion, Mary, Martha Jane, Jeanette and Harriott. She was the fifth oldest of the nineteen children. She died at just 7 days old on March 1st, 1832.-
