Ervin Riley was born on January 23rd, 1823 in Rock Creek, Bedford, TN. Ervin Riley's father was Elijah WILSON and his mother was Martha KELLY. His paternal grandparents were James WILSON and Ellender or Eleanor SHELFER; his maternal grandfather was Henry KELLY and his maternal grandmother is Jane Catherine HUNT. He had seven brothers and eleven sisters, named Alfred Gideon, Elmer, Sylvester, Thomas, Elijah Nicholas, Elias, James Henry, Mary Elizabeth, Palace Ann, Mary Catherine, Eleanor, Sarah, Melvina, Frances Marion, Mary, Martha Jane, Jeanette and Harriott. He was the oldest of the nineteen children. He died at the age of 52 on January 7th, 1876.-
