Matilda (Maud) was born about 1163 in , Boulogne, , Flanders.  Matilda (Maud)'s father was Matthew Of Boulogne Count and her mother was Mary Of England Princess.  Her paternal grandparents were Dietrich II Of Flanders Count and Sibyl (Sibille) Of Anjou; her maternal grandparents were Stephen Of England King and Mathilda Of Boulogne Heiress.  She was an only child.  She died in 1210 in Louvain.  She was buried in 1210.

‌Matilda (Maud) and Henry I were married in a religious ceremony in 1179.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Henry II, Gottfried, Matilda and Margaret.
