His paternal grandparents were Edmund de Mortimer and Elizabeth de Badlesmere; his maternal grandparents were William II de Montague and Katherine de Grandeson. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Geoffrey, Roger, Margaret and Margery. He died on December 26th, 1381 in Battle of Shrewsbury in Cork, Ireland.General Notes
