Roger was born in 1287 in Netherwood, Thornbury, Hereford, England.  Roger's father was Edmund de Mortimer and his mother was Eleanor (Margaret) de Fiennes.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Mortimer and Maud de Braose; his maternal grandparents are Guillaume II de Fiennes and Blanche de Brienne. He had two sisters named Matilda and Isolt.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 43 on November 29th, 1330 in Elms, Tyburn, Warwick, England.


Roger's first family with Joan de Geneville

‌Roger and Joan were married in a religious ceremony in October 1306.  They had a son and six daughters, named Edmund, Margaret, Maude, Agnes, Beatrice, Joan and Katherine.
