Anna Maria was born about 1758 in Upper Milford Township, Northampton County (later Lehigh), Pennsylvania. Anna Maria's father was Phillip Henrich Yaple and her mother was Maria Barbara Hold. Her paternal grandparents are Wolfgang Christian Jeppel and Anna Apollonia Wilhelm; her maternal grandfather was Casper Hold. She has two brothers named Johan Adam and Johann Henry. She is the youngest of the three children. She has five half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jacob, Johan Nicholas, Johannes, Johann Christian, Johann Philip and Maria.-
