Martin Edward was born on August 19th, 1918 in Arnegard, McKenzie County, North Dakota. Martin Edward's father was Martin Sever Stenehjem and his mother was Emma Sofia Bjornstad. His paternal grandparents were Andreas Amundson Stenehjem and Gunvar Trehus; his maternal grandparents were Edward Nelson Bjornstad and Anna Nyborg. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Jerome Charles, Gerald Alexander, Gwendolyn Avis, Dorothy Eloise and Geraldine Ann. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 68 on February 5th, 1987 in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona. He was buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens,Bismarck,Burleigh County,North Dakota.-
