Jacob Allen was born on February 28th, 1878. Jacob Allen's father was Joseph Allen Shaffer and his mother was Virginia Evans. His paternal grandparents were Peter Shaffer and Mary George; his maternal grandfather is Alkana Evans. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Edgar, George, James Russell, Susie, Louisa and Lizzie. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Christopher Clayton, Evalina and Edwina. He died at the age of 29 on October 20th, 1907 in Coal mine near Carnifax Ferry, VA.General Notes
