Mathias Rittenhouse

Mathias was born on July 14th, 1702 in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Mathias' father was Nicholas Rittenhouse and his mother was Wilhelmina Dewees. His maternal grandparents were Gerrit Hendricks De Wees and Sijtie Lievens. He had two brothers and five sisters, named William, Henry, Sijten Sophia, Psyche Peggy, Maria Christina, Catherine and Susanna. He is the youngest of the eight children.
