Catherine de Courtenay of was born in 1274.  Catherine de Courtenay of's father was Philippe I de Courtenay and her mother was Beatrice Capet de Anjou.  Her paternal grandparents were Baldwin II de Courtenay and Marie de Brienne; her maternal grandparents were Charles I Capet of Anjou and Beatrice Berenger of Provence.  She was an only child.
