Gisele of was born in France.  Gisele of's father was William I the Great of Burgundy and her mother was Etiennette de Longwy.  Her paternal grandparents were Renaud I Palatine de Macon of Burgundy and Judith (Alix) of Normandy; her maternal grandfather was Adalbert III de Longwy and her maternal grandmother is Clemence de Foix de Carcassonne. She had eight brothers and five sisters, named Eudes, William, Rainald II, Ivrea of, Hugues of, Guido of, Etienne I (Stephen) de Macon of, Raymond of, Etienette of, Sibylle (Mathilda) of, Bertha of, Clemence de Ivrea of and Ermentrude of.  She died after 1133.
