Earnest Eugene Wilkes 
Earnest Eugene was born on September 20th, 1896 in McNairy Co., Tennessee.1 Earnest Eugene's father was George Washington Wilkes and his mother was Emma Ander Perkins. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Jackson Wilkes and Mary Ann (Polly) Basham. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Carl Clyde, Oscar Carl, Lacy Frank, John Dewitt Talmage, Dora Hester, Mary and Pearl Hazel. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 76 on March 24th, 1973 in Selmer, TN.1 General Notes
