Dora Hester Wilkes 
Dora Hester was born on May 7th, 1889 in McNairy Co., Tennessee.1 Dora Hester's father was George Washington Wilkes and her mother was Emma Ander Perkins. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Jackson Wilkes and Mary Ann (Polly) Basham. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Carl Clyde, Oscar Carl, Lacy Frank, Earnest Eugene, John Dewitt Talmage, Mary and Pearl Hazel. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 82 in 1971.1 General Notes
