Mary Jane Underwood 
Mary Jane was born on September 11th, 1852 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.1 Mary Jane's father was Green Berry Underwood and her mother was Mary Rachel Sprowls. Her paternal grandparents were Hiram Underwood and Celia Buley. She had five brothers and five sisters, named William B., Eli, Green Berry,Jr., Hiram Jackson, John Logan, Sarah N., Elizabeth, Ersley Alley, Celia Betty and Jane. She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Alfred Thomas, Rosetta, Mattie Green, Lona Bell and Grance Ann.
