Alice Benjamin Purcell 
Alice Benjamin was born in 1864 in Texas.1 Alice Benjamin's father was Samuel Bruer Purcell and her mother was Sabra Caroline Smalley. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin S. Purcell and Mary Smalley; her maternal grandparents were Freeman Jasper,Jr. Smalley and Nancy Ann Asher. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Ulysses Samuel, Joseph Joel A., Willie B., Zelar, Merton Mart, Freeman Bruer, Samuel Eldon, Mary Anna, Hattie and Dora. She was the second oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 84 on September 19th, 1948 in Georgetown, Williamson Co., Texas.1 General Notes
