Sylvester LeGrand

Sylvester was born in July 1847 in Breckenride Co. Kentucy.¹   Sylvester's father was John B. LeGrand and his mother was Elizabeth Baskett-Baskin.  His paternal grandparents are John Harris LeGrand and Nancy Cox; his maternal grandparents are John Baskin and Beth McNalih. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Franklin P., Richard Bassett, J. William, Sanford, David V., Lucyan, Missouri Ellen, Mary Alice and Lucy Alice.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 51 in 1898.¹ 

‌Sylvester and Olivia were married in a religious ceremony on January 5th, 1870 in Meade Co., Kentucky.¹   They had a daughter named Myrtle.
