Richard Bassett LeGrand

Richard Bassett was born on March 16th, 1857 in Kentucky.¹   Richard Bassett's father was John B. LeGrand and his mother was Elizabeth Baskett-Baskin.  His paternal grandparents are John Harris LeGrand and Nancy Cox; his maternal grandparents are John Baskin and Beth McNalih. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Sylvester, Franklin P., J. William, Sanford, David V., Lucyan, Missouri Ellen, Mary Alice and Lucy Alice.  He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 68 on April 23rd, 1925 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky.¹ 

‌Richard Bassett and Mary Jane were married in a religious ceremony on January 24th, 1878 in Meade Co., Kentucky.¹   They had a son and two daughters, named Charles Guy, Minnie and Pearl.
