Samuel Newell Keahey 
Samuel Newell was born on October 19th, 1836 in Dale Co., Alabama.1 Samuel Newell's father was George Burder Keahey and his mother was Margaret Keahey. His paternal grandparents were James Keahey and Mary Jane Jackson; his maternal grandfather was George Keahey and his maternal grandmother is Sarah McFarland. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John Flavil, George Jackson, James Alfred, Martin Elijah, William Samples, Mary, Sarah Jane and Margaret Ann. He died at the age of 70 on February 8th, 1907. He was buried in Holly Springs Cemetery, Van Zant Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes
