BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, a Notary Public in and f
or sa id County and State, on this day personally appeared Mrs. Meda Jone
s, a wi dow, and Mrs. Grace Jones Elliott, wife of T. V. Elliott, bo
th to me we ll known, who, being by me first july sworn upon oath depos
es and says, ea ch for herself:
Affiants are the mother and sister, respectively, of Robert Jone
s, de ceased, in whom title was vested at the time of his death to certa
in re al property situated in Martin County, Texas, and affiants each ha
ve perso nal knowledge of all matters herein stated.
The said decedent, Robert Jones, died intestate on or about Dece
mb er 7, 1935, in Breckenridge, in Stephens County, Texas, where he res
id ed at the time of his death, and said decedent was and left no issu
e, a nd no child or children was or were ever adopted by said deceden
t. No admi nistration of any kind was ever had upon the estate of said dec
edent and s aid estate was not of sufficient value to incur any liabili
ty for feder al estate taxes or state inheritance taxes.
The parents of said decedent, Robert Jones, were the affiant, Mr
s. Me da Jones, and her husband, Calvin Jones, who died intestate on or ab
out Fe buary 16, 1926. The said Mrs. Meda Jones, and her husband, Calvin J
ones de ceased, were each married one time and one time only and that ti
me to ea ch other and of their said marriage the following named childr
en were bor n, and no others and no child or children was or were ever ado
pted by th em or either of them, to-wit the said decedent, Robert Jones; R
ayford Jone s; Doyle Jones; Durwood Jones, also known as Durwin Jones a
nd Darwin Jone s; Doyle Jones and Mrs. Hazel Jones Elliott, wi
fe of T. V. Elliott; Jack J ones, Joe Jones and Mrs. Hazel Jones Rippy Pac
e, a widow. The said decede nt Robert Jones was predeceased by his broth
er Joe Jones, who died intest ate on or about March 12, 1927, and th sa
id Joe jones was never married a nd left no issue, and no child or childr
en was or were ever adopeted by t he said Joe Jones.
The sole and only heirs of the said decedent, Robert Jones, we
re h is mother, Mrs. Meda Jones, who has remained a wido since the dea
th of h er husband, Calvin Jones and the following named brothers and sist
ers, to- wit: Rayford Jones, Clyde Jones, Durwood Jones, also known as Dur
win Jon es and Derwin Jones; Doyle Jones, Mrs. Grace Jones Elliot
t, wi fe of T. V. Elliot; Jack Jones; and Mrs. Hazel Jones Rippy Pace, a w
ido w, all of which heirs are still living and are the age of twenty-one y
ear s, except Jack Jones, who was killed while serving in the armed fo
rc es in March, 1945, and who was survived by his widow, Mrs. Velma Jone
s, n ow the wife of John Menafee, and two sons, Jackie Jones, also kno
wn as Jac kson Jones and Lanny Jones.
