Robert Quincy was born on December 8th, 1828 in Statesville, Iredell, NC.1 Robert Quincy's father was Joseph Davidson and his mother was Emma Selina Hart. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Davidson and Jane Henrietta Clayton. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Joseph Alston, Andrew Augustus, Thomas Melmoth Clayton, Ritta Elisabeth, Sarah Amanda, Martha Elvira, Selina Emaline and Mary Jane. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers named Milas Alexander and John. He died at the age of 86 on April 22nd, 1915.
