William Walter Brashears 
William Walter was born on April 30th, 1842 in Lawrence Co., Missouri.1 William Walter's father was Walter E. (Watt) Brashears and his mother was Elizabeth Elenor Basham. His paternal grandparents were Robert Brashear and Sarah Rhea Hankins; his maternal grandparents were James Monroe Bassham and Arta M. Holloway. He had six brothers and nine sisters, named Diocleshion W., Robert Washington, Jessie John Rankin, James Basham, Isaac Jackson, Reuben Dobbin, Elizabeth Elendor, Artisa Miney, Sarah Jane 'Sally', Martha Ann, Matida Lucinda, Catherine Adeline, Mary Angeline "Polly", Caroline Malissa and Malinda K.. He was the eighth oldest of the sixteen children. He died at the age of 68 on July 7th, 1910 in Missouri.1 General Notes
